The kids and I saw the opening day production of Snow White at the City Theatre last Saturday. Their wacky version of the classic fairytale had us giggling and wondering what would happen next. The Five Guys name Moe (instead of dwarfs) were our favorite. A couple days after we saw the show, out of nowhere, my daughter broke out into their song. They were memorable!
City Theatre is the performing arts program at Sacramento City College, part of the Los Rios Community College District. They perform Storytime Theatre several months throughout the year.
Snow White is playing Saturdays and Sundays at 1pm through November 7th. Storytime performances are currently being held in the Student Center in the middle of the Sacramento City College campus, next to the City Cafe cafeteria. Admission is just $5.00 (cash or check only) and kids 2 and under are FREE. Parking is free on weekends.
Inexpensive, kid-friendly theatre. This is THE place you need to take your young kids if you want to teach them to SIT, WATCH, and APPRECIATE theatre. It is the most kid-friendly atmosphere I’ve found. The play is about 45 minutes long and does not have an intermission. Just long enough for those little attention spans! When the play ends, the audience is invited to meet the cast and the kids just love having them autograph their program. I highly recommend taking your budding theatregoers!
