John’s Incredible Pizza Company

I’ve heard it called the “new and improved Chuck E. Cheese” and I would have to agree.  John’s Incredible Pizza Company in Roseville has pizza, dessert, rides, games and prizes…all the makings of an exciting experience for kids.  If you want to spend a little extra on a special night out with the family or a birthday celebration, this is a great place to go!

There are 5 themed dining rooms, each with a big screen TV playing something fitting the theme.  You can choose from ToonTime, Cabin Fever, Vertical (surfing/skate boarding), Fusion (music videos), and Hall of Fame.  My son picked the Hall of Fame room for us and we felt like we were eating inside a sports bar-type restaurant.  I liked the fact that we were able to enjoy eating dinner together peacefully before we entered the game room.

We went on a weeknight and it was busy but not so crowded that we had to wait in any lines.  Following some good advice, we arrived early enough to have dinner, play and then go back into the dining room for dessert.

The All-You-Can-Eat buffet was surprisingly yummy.  The pizza bar had many fun choices such as Ranch, Fiesta, Cheeseburger and Garlic Pesto pizzas as well as the traditional combinations like Veggie, Meat Lovers and Hawaiian.  If you feel a little daring, you can try the Mac and Cheese or Spicy Peanut butter pizza.  Their salad bar was fresh and well stocked.  There were several different pastas and we each found a couple of favorites that we went back for more of.  The highlight of the dessert bar was the freshly made mini donuts. They taste like funnel cake and are pretty addictive!  My husband laughs when I say I want to go back for the donuts.

The kids’ eyes lit up when they saw that the game and ride room has the Incredible Express Roller Coaster, Twister, Frog Hopper, Boogie Bumper Cars, and Thunder Alley Bowling.  They played Skee Ball and a ton of other games that in my opinion issued a large amount of tickets.  For little ones, there is a Frog, mini Carousel and Toddler Play Area.  There is truly something for every age.  When it was time to leave, we fed our tickets into the atm-like machines and our kids picked out toys from the prize counter.  They were happy to have little stuffed animals, balls, and sunglasses to take home with them.  Each one of my kids had an INCREDIBLE amount of fun and cannot wait to go back!

Tips: Pay once, eat as much as you like, go on rides, play games, then eat more.  Save your receipt that shows how many you have paid for and when you go back for a second snack, just put it back out on your table.  You can’t take food or drinks out on to the game floor.

If you are going on a weekend, try to arrive before noon.  Peak arrival for crowds seemed to be between noon and 2 PM which sometimes means a line out the door.

Start with rides first to avoid lines and then move on to the games when it gets busier.

The game/ride cards can be reloaded (at the registers and online) and credits do not expire.  Same for the prize tickets.  Once you have fed your tickets into the ticket machine, your earned tickets are swiped onto your Fun Card.  Tickets that are not spent on your prizes will remain on the card for next time.  As with all places like this, do not expect high-quality prizes.  They are just fun little bonuses.
