Barnum’s FUNundrum

Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey’s FUNundrum lived up to its name…it was certainly FUN!  We went to the Arco Arena last night to see it and had a ball!  We met extremely tall men, crazy clowns and got up close to an enormous elephant during the pre-show.  Then our whole family enjoyed the show from beginning to end as the performers wowed us with their amazing acts.  Our favorites were the high-wire walkers, trapeze artists, and motorcyclists.  We just kept exclaiming…”How do they do that?!”

I don’t think there was ever a moment without something happening.  While the crew cleaned up from one act and set up for the next, another act was performing on another section of the floor.  At times there were three acts going on simultaneously!  With the glitz and glamor, the bright colors, the music, and the constant activity, it bordered on sensory overload–in the best possible way.  My sons’ favorite act was the Torres Family, which performs with seven motorcycles, at speeds up to 65 mph, circling inside a 16-foot steel globe.

If you have the chance to see the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey FUNundrum show, I recommend it.  It’s not just for families with small children, my husband and I enjoyed it as well!  The kids agreed with what they claim and said it was the Greatest Show on Earth!

My love for exploring and creating experiences with my three kids led to the founding of SacramentoSidetracks.com in 2009. I realized that Sacramento has so much to offer and I was excited to share my findings with other parents. Besides simply having fun, these are the other positive side effects of taking my kids on outings that I’ve discovered: we have quality time together away from the distractions at home, we cultivate our curiosity, learn new things, conversations are triggered by what we see and do, we connect and bond as a family, and we create new memories. Ready to get sidetracked, too? Let me be your guide!
