Family Night at Bouncetown

(Bouncetown Closed until further notice)

The night before the kids and I drove down to Southern California, my husband wanted us to do something fun as a family.  Bouncetown was having their Family Bounce Night and we were excited to check it out.  We had such a great time together AND got a workout!

The entire family can play together every Wednesday night from 6:30-8:30.  It is just $7.00 per child and parents are free!  This works out to be a pretty good deal for entertaining all of us.  It was fairly quiet the night we went with a max of around 10 kids at one point.

Bouncetown has more climbing and sliding than I expected.  There is one bounce house  for your basic up and down jumping.  You can go down a short slide to get out and my 2-year-old felt confident on his own in this one.  Another fun bounce unit has a couple of obstacle courses with tunnels to crawl through, a mini basketball hoop, and slides.  There is also a giant slide that my boys hesitated to go up but once they experienced it couldn’t get enough.  I even saw an active 20-month-old slide down it by herself.

Our favorite feature was the “Ironman Challenge” obstacle course.  Two people can race by starting at separate entrances.  We took turns racing each other.  You climb, squeeze between cylinders, run through tunnels, climb some more and slide.  The kids got a kick out of seeing my husband and I take off as fast as we could and then shooting down the slides at the end.  We were big kids for the night and it was definitely quality family time!

Added bonus…the kids fell asleep on the way home!

My love for exploring and creating experiences with my three kids led to the founding of SacramentoSidetracks.com in 2009. I realized that Sacramento has so much to offer and I was excited to share my findings with other parents. Besides simply having fun, these are the other positive side effects of taking my kids on outings that I’ve discovered: we have quality time together away from the distractions at home, we cultivate our curiosity, learn new things, conversations are triggered by what we see and do, we connect and bond as a family, and we create new memories. Ready to get sidetracked, too? Let me be your guide!
