Introducing Tiny Tots

Tiny Tots Playgroup in Rancho Cordova- Come Play with Us!

by Jennifer Bell

In the multi purpose room of a former elementary school, two Rancho Cordova moms have turned an empty space into a fun and educational experience for toddlers! Over the last year, Ms. Peggy and Ms. Lia have developed a program focused on play and socialization, purchasing their own supplies and devoting their time to creating an enriching environment for little bodies to explore!

For just $25.00, parents can purchase a punch card good for four 90-minute playtimes. Rather than traditional tuition, this punch card system gives parents and caregivers the flexibility to bring their children when it works for their schedules!

Children up to age 3 are invited to explore the room with an hour of free time, dabbling in paint, developing their fine motors skills in the sensory pool (filled with rice, beans, and pasta), “cooking” in the kitchen, or simply enjoying some quiet reading time in a tent filled with books and pillows. Infants have their own area to play away from the older children, creating a safe environment for all. The last 30 minutes of each session is devoted to circle time, where they will learn new songs and get up and move!

This program is a GREAT opportunity to begin socialization through parallel play, and have lots of fun in the process!

Tiny Tots is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00-11:30am. *First Class is FREE!*

My love for exploring and creating experiences with my three kids led to the founding of SacramentoSidetracks.com in 2009. I realized that Sacramento has so much to offer and I was excited to share my findings with other parents. Besides simply having fun, these are the other positive side effects of taking my kids on outings that I’ve discovered: we have quality time together away from the distractions at home, we cultivate our curiosity, learn new things, conversations are triggered by what we see and do, we connect and bond as a family, and we create new memories. Ready to get sidetracked, too? Let me be your guide!
