Two exciting things to tell you…
1. This awesome event is FREE!
2. I’m GIVING AWAY 2 children’s books! (see details below)
Fairytale Town presents the 13th annual ScholarShare Children’s Book Festival on September 28 and 29.
The annual Festival features readings and presentations from children’s book authors and illustrators, storytelling performances, hands-on literacy activities, and more. Admission to the Festival and Fairytale Town is FREE to the public thanks to the event’s sponsor, ScholarShare College Savings Plan.
There is a great line up of authors this year that I’m really excited about! Authors and illustrators will be available to sign books immediately following their presentations. Families can also shop for featured books at the Time Tested Books booth.
Award-winning storyteller Michael Katz will take to the stage to tell delightful folktales from around the world in his highly animated and interactive style of storytelling. Author Genny Heikka will also share her personal story and tips to help moms and dads find bliss in parenting. Regional literacy and arts organizations will be on hand to provide information about early childhood literacy and more.

Enter to WIN this pair of books!
This year’s lineup of 11 featured authors and illustrators includes Sherri Duskey Rinker, who saw her first picture book, “Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site,” rise to the number one spot on the New York Times bestseller list. She’s inspired by her two energetic,
inquisitive sons, one fascinated by bugs and magic, and the other by trucks and trains. Rinker will present “Steam Train, Dream Train,” which debuted in the number one spot on the New York Times bestseller list in April 2013!
I am excited to have these two books, Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site and Steam Train, Dream Train to give away to one lucky reader! Winner will pick up the books at Fairytale Town the weekend of the Scholarshare Festival.
Here’s how to enter:
Go to the list of children’s books the authors will be presenting and leave a comment below letting me know which book you think you’re kids would love to hear at the festival.
One entry per person. The giveaway will close on Monday, September 23rd at midnight and the winner will be announced Tuesday morning. Good Luck!
