This morning on my Fox40 bi-weekly segment, I talked about a Sunday Outing Downtown for a Family of 4…for UNDER $40.00!  I have combined four destinations within close proximity of each other to create a fun-filled day for your family with kids of any ages.

1st Stop –

Downtown Farmer’s Market
Where: 5th & W Street – 8th & W Street, Sacramento, CA
What: considered best farmer’s market in town; get coffee and pastries; fruit to save for picnic lunch at 2nd Stop (which is just within walking distance)
Hours: 8am-12pm

What: Walk over from farmer’s market; space-themed playground; duck pond; bring picnic lunch
Hours: dawn – dusk

Leland Stanford Mansion

What: Interesting guided tour of historic and elegant 19,000 square foot Victorian mansion
Hours: 10am-5pm; last tour 4pm
Cost: $5.00 Adults, $3.00 Kids 6-17, Free Kids 5 and under; Tour Total $10-16.00; Parking free Sundays

Vic’s Ice Cream

What: family owned old fashioned ice cream parlor; best hand dipped ice cream in town
