Fire Station Open Houses

"Driving" Fire Truck

I was SO excited when Sacramento Sidetracks facebook friend, Lacey, wrote in to share this information about Fires Station Open Houses in our area! This is what she had to say…

Sacramento area Firestations host a free open house each Saturday starting now through October. My son is a firetruck lover so we took him to a few of these last year and they were a big hit! Sparky the firedog is there to greet all the kids and the firefighters are very hands on. They also provide snacks and beverages along with firebadge stickers, hats and coloring books for the kids. There are also several stations this year doing presentations.

The next Fire Station Open House is this Saturday, May 19, 2012. You can bring your family, meet the firefighters, get a tour of the station, and more! Click HERE FOR THE ENTIRE OPEN HOUSE SCHEDULE.

Thank you, Lacey!

My love for exploring and creating experiences with my three kids led to the founding of SacramentoSidetracks.com in 2009. I realized that Sacramento has so much to offer and I was excited to share my findings with other parents. Besides simply having fun, these are the other positive side effects of taking my kids on outings that I’ve discovered: we have quality time together away from the distractions at home, we cultivate our curiosity, learn new things, conversations are triggered by what we see and do, we connect and bond as a family, and we create new memories. Ready to get sidetracked, too? Let me be your guide!
