Make Your Own Pot of Gold with ArtBeast
When: Wednesday, March 11; 4:00-5:00pm
Where: Arcade Library
What: Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a little magic! After hearing a silly St. Patrick’s Day story you will paint some rocks gold to make our very own golden nuggets and then nestle them in a little pot under the rainbow.

Trap a Leprechaun
When: Thursday, March 12; 4:00-5:00pm
Where: North Highlands Library
What:  Build a leprechaun trap with a variety of recyclable materials. You can add some coins, Lucky Charms and glitter to catch those wily leprechauns!

Blarney Buttons
When: Thursday, March 12; 4-5:30pm
Where: Rio Linda Library
What: Style your own buttons to wear on St. Patrick’s Day. They’ve got a button maker, button parts, and different design options, you bring the Blarney. Kiss me, I’m Irish!

Taste a Rainbow
When: Thursday, March 12; 3-4:30pm
Where: Courtland Library
What: Be a food explorers Fruits and vegetables have many different flavors. You’ll explore and taste sweet, savory, and sour foods. You can record our favorites in our explorer journals. They’ll read Blueberries for Sal by Robert McCloskey. (With California Food Literacy.)

St. Patrick’s Day Parade
When: Saturday, March 14; 1:00pm
Where: Old Sacramento
What: Hundreds of colorful marchers dressed in green, along with Irish and Highland dancers, pipe and drum bands, historic re-enactors and a variety of cultural organizations, join together to be a part of the 19th Annual St. Patrick’s Day parade.

St. Patrick’s Day River Cruise
When: Saturday, March 14; 11:30pm, 3:00pm, 4:30pm
Where: Hornblower Cruises, Old Sacramento
What: Enjoy a one hour cruise of the Sacramento River with a Face painter & Balloon Artist for the kids! See where the American and Sacramento Rivers come together to experience the wildlife and breathtaking natural beauty that this historic and important waterway has to offer.

Seeing Green

Where: Effie Yeaw Nature Center
What: Join a naturalist for some “catch and release” activities in the Nature Center’s pond. Explore the critters living there and see how being green makes life a little easier in the pond.
