Dinner and Miniature Golfing at Rock & Brews

One Stop for Dinner and Entertainment!

Every time we’ve driven past Cal Expo and seen the Rock & Brews sign, we’ve been reminded to go see what it’s all about! Well, we finally made it happen a couple of weeks ago.

This family restaurant is best known for two of its founders, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of the iconic rock band, KISS. You can read about the restaurant’s history here. The Cal Expo location just opened up in the summer of 2021 and makes a great addition to the Arden area!

Rock & Brews offers quality American comfort food, classic favorites, and one of the Sacramento area’s largest selections of international and local craft beer. They pride themselves on sourcing their ingredients from the local community, and highlight area craft beer brewers to provide a fresh and unique dining experience. They take the classics and put their unique spin on them, resulting in comfort food that is familiar yet original.

I have to say that for an outing with teenagers, you cannot go wrong with this spot. The awesome food choices and competitive fun of mini-golf make for a really fun night.

Between all of us, we tried out the Street Nachos, Extreme Pepperoni Pizza, Beer-Battered Fish and Chips, Key Club Turkey BLTA, and their Ultimate Burger. There really was something for everyone on the menu and everything ended up being delicious! How often can you say that? While we were eating, the rock n’ roll artwork on the walls sparked conversation!

We went on a Saturday, early evening, and had a reservation that I set up that same morning. This worked out perfectly as we beat the crowd and had timed it so that we finished dinner when the sun was setting. This made our miniature golf experience extra enjoyable because their string lights came on and there was a cool breeze. The unique course had a ton of water features and rock n’ roll decorations.

It was a fantastic night for all of us! This would also be a fun experience with young kids (we saw some having a blast on the course) and would make a great date night.

Know Before You Go:

  •  You do not have to eat in the restaurant in order to play miniature golf (they also have batting cages).
  • You can either pay for your mini-golf or batting cages at the hostess stand or you can ask your server to add it to your meal bill.
  • Mini Golf is $10.00 per person, $9.00 for kids 5 and under. Batting Cages are $2.00/round or $20/15 rounds.
  • There are 2 mini-golf courses with 18 holes each and you can do both, so your play time can be as short or as long as you’d like.
  • They allow you to bring beverages with you onto the golf course.
  • They have all kinds of live concerts and events happening, so check this page for what’s happening in the near future.

Tips:

  • If you are going to have dinner before golfing we suggest going early evening to beat the crowd and time it so that you are golfing when the sun is going down.
  • Combine it with getting some shopping done at Arden Fair or How Bout Arden.
