Introducing Champion Me Books

Award Winning Personalized Children’s Books

I have an awesome HOLIDAY GIFT IDEA for you!  Customize an adorable story book for your son or daughter, niece or nephew, grandchild, your child’s best friend…or any other special little one in your life!

Have you seen personalized books in the past that insert the name of the child into them?  They are pretty cool, but going above and beyond that, Champion Me Books lets you create a character that looks just like them!  What’s more…they’ve made it super easy to do!

What child would not want to be the HERO OF THEIR OWN STORY?  Champion Me Books has written and designed 4 fabulous adventures to choose fromFace off with the mysterious Stonkeropolous, chase a Scribble Monster, protect all things cute and cuddly from a power-hungry wizard, or find a cure in a world of gadgets and machines! The stories are all extremely well-written, funny, and filled with page after page of gorgeous illustrations.

Champion Me Books was recently launched by Lori Ward Kretchmer and Doug Ward, a brother-sister team, that I have known for over a decade.  My husband grew up with them and now I am lucky to call them friends.  They are two of the most creative, talented, and adventurous people you’ll ever meet!  I could not be more thrilled about their new venture!  My husband and I read through all the stories and then both played around with the avatar creator.  It was so fun and I loved that we could preview each book with the name and character before deciding which we liked the best.

Easy as 1,2,3…

1. Select your book 2. Create your hero 3. Preview the pages with your hero as the star!

Check out the book we made!

We figured that our 5-year-old son Bobby would LOVE to receive his own Champion Me Book for Christmas and so the first one we created was for him.  I cannot tell you how ecstatic I was when I received the book in the mail the other day.  Bobby in Gadgetland is better quality than many of the books on our shelves.  It is a durable 8 1/2 x 11 paperback with a glossy cover and amazingly vivid colors throughout!  We were able to write a dedication to him that went on the first page of the book and really makes it a special keepsake.  This story suits Bobby’s personality and I am SO anxious to sit down and read it with him.  It’s going to take a lot of willpower to keep me from giving it to him early!

My love for exploring and creating experiences with my three kids led to the founding of SacramentoSidetracks.com in 2009. I realized that Sacramento has so much to offer and I was excited to share my findings with other parents. Besides simply having fun, these are the other positive side effects of taking my kids on outings that I’ve discovered: we have quality time together away from the distractions at home, we cultivate our curiosity, learn new things, conversations are triggered by what we see and do, we connect and bond as a family, and we create new memories. Ready to get sidetracked, too? Let me be your guide!
