Halloween Costumes

I am a procrastinator!  I have always been a procrastinator.  With three kids now, I am trying so hard to not be for the sake of sanity.  So here I am in the middle of September…it’s not even October yet…and I am ordering their Halloween costumes!  Anyone who knows me  (or receives late birthday cards from me) will be surprised!

It has been a little easier this year deciding on what the kids will be because we got a Costume Express magazine in the mail and my kids have been pouring over it (and fighting over it…it’s a little ripped up now!).  My six-year-old decided on her favorite character, Hannah Montana and we’ve been practicing the Hoe-down Throw-down.  Ha ha!

My three-year-old decided on the person he wants to be when he “grows up”, Diego!

Go Diego, Go!

It is great that they are so confident about their decisions but I have to say it is hard to let go and allow them to be what they want when I have always been more in to creative costumes.  I can only imagine how many Hannah Montanas and Diegos we’ll run into on Halloween night!  Luckily, I like the costumes at Costume Express for those characters.  They are cute and quality…not cheesy.  My 1-year-old is going to be a leopard.  I am going to have to paint his face like the baby  in the picture!  Isn’t that precious?

Besides finding all the costumes we wanted in the same place, I am extra excited that I am getting an amazing deal.  First of all, they are offering FREE shipping on orders over $75.00 and second of all, there were coupons on the back page of the magazine that came in the mail.  My total for all three costumes (including a Hannah Montana wig!) came to $101.96, then with $20.00 off an order of $100.00 or more…my total is $81.96 with free shipping!  Saved money…and I am DONE!  Yea!

My love for exploring and creating experiences with my three kids led to the founding of SacramentoSidetracks.com in 2009. I realized that Sacramento has so much to offer and I was excited to share my findings with other parents. Besides simply having fun, these are the other positive side effects of taking my kids on outings that I’ve discovered: we have quality time together away from the distractions at home, we cultivate our curiosity, learn new things, conversations are triggered by what we see and do, we connect and bond as a family, and we create new memories. Ready to get sidetracked, too? Let me be your guide!
